My family is azz backwards…
That’s one reason why I never call and ask them for help with anything…it becomes a damn event…really?! It is not that damn difficult.
Yes, I am using the three and four letters words, but that’s just how damn mad I am right about now.
Then they have the nerve to ask bullshit questions, and then get offended when I lose patience. I already gave you the answer, rephrasing the question will not change things…NEXT!
They wonder why I don’t visit?! Well, because…I know from whence I came…and I ain’t in no hurry to get back…most of the folks questioning why I never come home don’t call me, don’t ask about me other than wanting to know why I have not been home. If you are really concerned pick up a phone and call…and when I do visit, I only go see the ones that take the time to call and see how I am doing…WHATEVER!
Do I sound selfish…well, maybe I am. We don’t choose our family, but I can choose not to have to deal with the backazzwardness!
But...
Even with the backazzwardness family came through for me...I guess that's all that matters at the end of the day, that we have each other's back...
I still only claim certain folks, and I guess those are the ones I can truly say I both like and love...well for the most part.

I was gonna say that I'm glad that I have a small family, but I just realized that I don't. It just seems that way because I dont talk to many of them. I've got hella cousins here, but dont know their names, and all of my great aunts and uncles might as well be strangers.
I look at most of my friends more as fam, than I do members of the fam. Hell, I know them waaaay better.

You can choose your family. Don't be fooled. What you can't change is the blood relatives. But you can pick those whom you want to deal with. My family has proven that. That's a sad fact and shouldn't be though. And just as is said: Fiend, There's one (or few) in every family.
Yeah...it does seem that every family has the "odd" ones or the crazy ones, and Maddy and Roddy...I agree, you can choose your family...I choose which family members I deal with, and I have chosen my own family...my close knit circle of friends.
But for some reason, those related to me only by blood don't seem to get the concept. They try to make me feel as if I owe them something just because we are related. That's what it ain't!
Glad I'm not the only one with azz backward family members.
