Hmm...

An anonymous comment in response to my Serena post.

You really should have someone proofread your work. There are a LOT of misspelled words in your articles, as well as words used totally out of context. Also, in the heading on the site, you say you are, "Never at a lost for words." It really should read, "Never at a loss (l-o-s-s) for words."Just an observation.

Here is my reply to this response…

I probably should ignore, but I am in one of those moods...Umm, thank you for the feedback but I really could give a damn. I do this for me and no one else. If you can't decipher the intent of the post due to the typos don't read. I am not getting paid to do this, it’s for fun, and no...I don't proofread nor do I have anyone else waste their time proofing my posts (not articles) either. So buy a vowel, and get a life. But thanks for stopping by! *smiles*Oh, but I will change lost to loss...I never noticed the misuse of the word...but I will take that edit into consideration. *shoots bird*

I just want to know why waste your time with the “constructive” criticism. I post my “articles” and keep it moving. If I notice a mistake when I re-visit a particular post, I will make corrections at that time. I do realize that I do not always post using correct grammar…and sometimes that’s my point. I post in my err’day vernacular. What makes my azz itch is the fact that said user is anonymous. Why does it seem that all of the blogger shit talkers are always anonymous users? Hmmm. *scratches head*. If I were to make an observation such as this, I would at least sign in with my blogger user name. LOL. Okay, just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening.

Congratulations Serena!

An unseeded Serena Williams wins 8th Slam Title. I was so excited when I read the news at 3 am CST. I know that the critics were hoping that she and Venus both were past their primes. Serena went into the open ranked #81. I believe that when the Williams sisters play with heart, mind, body, and soul…they are their only competition. I started playing tennis at 12, and I immediately feel in love with the sport. Yes, we had trailblazers such as Arthur Ashe, Althea Gibson, and Zena Garrison, however, Serena and Venus have changed the game. It is a faster more powerful game, and it is beginning to have more color and personality. Congratulations Serena, this win is much deserved.

Wit Yo Nasty Azz!

This is an actual interoffice email sent by HR earlier this month:

Bathroom Etiquette 101

Be Tidy: No one wants to navigate around your mess. Yes, there are usually janitors, but a.) it’s rude to make them pick up your stinky tp, and b.) until they come in, your co-workers are forced to use a bathroom that is filthy. Throw away your paper towels and tp, flush until clear and wipe up excess water on the countertops. Assume our biggest customer will be the next person to use the stall and sink.

Be Sanitary:You know what's worse than seeing some stranger in a public bathroom leave without washing their hands? Seeing somebody you work with do the same. Please wash your hands!

Starting Monday a spray air deodorizer will be in each bathroom, please use it!

The restroom is not the place for personal calls or conversations about coworkers.

This is real talk! I work with some nasty azz women for sure. I heard that the menz room is just as bad. The President of the company requested that this email go out. Apparently it was more direct than this, but the VP thought it should be toned down. I really wish she would have kept the courtesy flush or drop flush (which ever you perfer line), those older women be killing us with their issues. MAN!

Prince - The Art of Musicology

I am in love with this man. I don’t know what it is about him, but just looking at him makes me weak in the knees. And that voice…low register, high register it does not matter *fanning myself fiercely*. I love me some Prince! Since I can remember, yes, I wanted to grow up to marry Michael Jackson (only because he was not at all threatening, lol), but I have always been infatuated with Prince. He’s beautiful, the man is prettier than me (and I don’t like pretty boys), yet, I think he just might be one of the sexiest men ever to walk this earth. He is a musical genius, I love his style, his funk, and his swagger…and the man has a sense of humor! Yes, I must admit I miss the freak nasty Purple one, but hey…I will take him however, I can get him. I really am trying to get to Vegas now, I need to see Prince live in concert in my lifetime…this is truly a must!

I cannot tell you how many times I watched “The Art of Musicology” when it first aired. Loves it! I know it’s a long clip, but I could not resist posting when I came across it. 4 min and 37 sec into the clip he begins playing an acoustic version of “Sweet Thing”…hot! I can go on and on, when it comes to Prince…so let me stop now. Enjoy!

Go Bears Go!

Right until kick off, I was rooting for the Saints. I mean how could I not. They are the feel good story of the hour. But then my Texas boys came ready to play. I'm talking about former Longhorns Nathan Vasher and Cedric Benson. It just did not feel right rooting against them, and about 2 mins into the game, but heart was saying Go Bears Go. Not too mention that coach Lovie Smith, who is a native Texan, is about to make history...the first black coach to be into the Super Bowl.

Yes! History has been made. Not one but 2 Black coaches going head to head in the Superbowl! Congratulations to Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy!

Sweet Tea

Now, we love our sweet tea in the south, but this is a little too much. I don't care if you are from the N.O. or what...but there is no reason what-so-ever a dude should be able to pop it like that. WOW!

*widens eyes in shock*

Is this how we repay those who came before us. Someone once said that youtube will be the downfall of the black youth...I think they might have been right on the money with that one. *smh*

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today is officially MLK day, however, I think we should strive to honor those who came before us everyday. Without their sacrifices, my life as I know it, would not be possible.

Dr. King, I thank you for having a dream!

Untitled...

I do not consider myself a poet by any means, but I thought I'd share...
How could I love you? Strong. Mighty. Bold. Warrior. Protector. King. Dictionaries define strength as the power to resist stress and strain. I define strength as the soul of the black man. Powerful you are. Over centuries you have uplifted your people. You have built civilizations with your bare hands and held them up upon your shoulders. Beauty is defined through your eyes. Mountains move at the rumbling of your voice. You have withstood trials that would cause a lesser man to perish. You have rebuilt the nation of the very man that constantly labors to strip you of your dignity. Does he not know, his labor is in vain? The black soul exemplifies strength. The soul of the black man is strength personified. Fear is a distant notion when in your presence. A man speaks from ignorance if he calls you, my King, anything but. More precious than diamonds and gold you are. Strong. Mighty. Bold. My Warrior. My Protector. My King. How could I not love you? You are loved. You are exalted. Of all of God’s creations, there is none above you. I have learned the importance of strength by following your lead. Allow me, your Queen to share your burden.

Subway Hero Wesley Autrey

David Letterman interviews Wesley Autrey in regards to his subway heroics. I truly consider this man a hero, because I doubt I would have risk my life to save the life of a stranger. He also seems to be a very charismatic gentleman. A true role model, he has done for another what some will not do for themselves…gave him the opportunity to live.

Let's Go Back...

I still love this song. And what would you know...Mr. Dalvin is repping the Texas Longhorns. This is probably my favorite Jodeci video now.
