Please forgive me!

I will never chose another over you again. I have learned my lesson, and now I know, I truly need you. So know I'm asking you to come back and help right what I've made wrong...

I need you! There is none better than you!

Oh Tide, I just hope you can find it within yourself to forgive me!

Cloudy is my vision...

I have a lot of things going on in my head...all though none of them seem to be clear at moment.

I have had a few obstacles thrown at me these past few weeks...but greater is he that's within me!

Yeah, I could have handled myself differently, but I should not have been put in that position in the first place.

Why is it so hot?!!! I mean, I have to get it right! I can't go to hell! I would not least 5 secs...

I was awaken from a good sleep last night (had been asleep maybe an hour and a half) and I could not get back to sleep...I was wide awake until about 6am...could have used a good book.

I am really craving some fried shrimp right now...ooooh, with a baked potatoes...who's cooking me dinner tonight?!

Getting ready for football season! My Longhorns are ranked #2! That's what I'm talking about...but with our schedule we better go undefeated...

Well blog world, really didn't have too much to say today, just felt the need to check in.

Make sure to check us out at boissuq.

Things are becoming a bit more clear...

Hey Young World...

the world is yours...

How is everyone out here in blog land?

It's been a minute...busy at work, busy with boissuq...

you should follow us on twitter.

So, I did mention that I've had a lot going on right?

Well, this past week was a hectic one to say the least. I received a call at the end of the day on Monday, the receptionist was running down the hall looking for me because I was not in the office...I could hear her calling my name so I followed my name to the front desk, she's in a state of hysterics, she's waving the phone and telling me to just take it up there...

I see my sister's name on the caller ID...my heart sank.
"Keli, momma just called, they had to rush daddy to the hospital, he's non-responsive".

I can't tell you how I got from point A to B...my coworkers said that I let out a whale that sent a few of them running behind me to make sure I was ok...

So...it turns out my 59 yr old father had a stroke. He apparently loss consciousness for a minute. He is now taking blood pressure meds and taking it easy...which is not going to be easy for him...he tried to fix my cousins car the afternoon he was released from the hospital...

He speaks very aggressively...he does not mean any harm, but most time he barks at you, instead of speaking to you...

The tone is still the same, but the bark is not as loud. He's still cutting up as my mom would say, meaning joking and laughing.

I had to go home, I never visit Freeport, because my parents always come here, but now I see, that they are getting to a point to where my sister and I are going to have to go to them.

My father and I have had our differences...but I forgive him. That stuff is in the past...

I do know, that for that moment...when I thought there was a possibility that he was gone...I was beyond upset...

I was not ready to say goodbye...guess that's because I had to make sure that he knows I love him.

Introducing...

boissuq!

Thats right, we said it...

Boys suck!

This is a project that a long-time friend and I are working on...

No we are not lesbians! We’re just two women tired of dealing with boys in men’s clothing, and we know we’re not the only ones…it seems the older we get, the more trivial things become. After many late night conversations about “Why did he think that was okay?”, “What in heaven’s sake possessed him to do that?” , or my favorite “When is he going to follow through on what he says he wants?!’ It’s about time for us to bring the rest of you ladies in on our conversations…It’s time we spoke up and let these “men” know what they think is cute, is played out and tired.

Fellas, we by no means hate you…

but the line just became thinner.

So ladies, tell us what you think...

And fellas, we welcome and appreciate your two cents as well...we can weed out the busters once the REAL men speak up and let themselves be known.

Creativity....

If you were here, with me, I would follow your lead, as you
conduct our symphony, composed in the key of sensuality

If you were here, with me, our bodies would create a
rhythmic melody, our breath providing the syncopation of the
beat

If you were here, with me, I would wrap you within my
desire, our bodies fusing into one, riding the crescendo of
our melody

If you were here, with me, I would satisfy your oral
fixation, providing a canvas as you create a masterpiece, stroking perfectly

If you were here, with me, we would voyage deep inside my
fantasy ride, creating works of passion, as we get high off
ecstasy

If you were here, with me, you would feel me pulsating to
the beat of our rhythm, pausing only to reflect upon our
work of art… Instinctively…pleasurably …

If you were here with me.

She Got Her Own

I keep hearing men say this...but do they really mean this?

And when do we get to the point where this is trite behavior on their part?

I mean, to me...chivalry is not dead...just a loss art form.

And if I need to reimburse you for buying me a salad and a damn sprite (still salty about this)...you don't think of the value of my time...mind...body...spirit...

The problem is...

Men seem to look at the material when they consider wants vs. needs.

A woman can pay her own way, yet be needy and insecure.

And some men that speak this, "I want an independent woman bull"...

well...

They don't know how to act when they get what they want. After a while, what they love about you, is what they begin to despise. They look at you one day, realize you don't NEED them, then they are off to put on the cape and play captain save'em for the first chick that makes them feel needed.

Yet in still...

This is still my song of the moment. I especially like the swisha house mix...think it's hella sexy, although I could do without fabulous on the track.

And yes...I said this mix is sexy...what?!

If only I had a man...

That would let me know that everything is going to be alright when I am having a rough day.
That would sit with me and talk about everything while talking about nothing.
That realizes I'm not the typical chick.
That believes me and believes in me.
That can melt me with one touch.
That thinks of me before he acts.
That understands that I am the best person to have in his corner.
That realizes I always act with him in mind.
That calls me before he goes to bed, just to hear the sound of my voice.
That wants me to be his best friend.
That asks me what I'm thinking, or how I'm feeling before drawing his own conclusions.
That would talk to me, and let me know what's on his mind.
That greets me and asks how was my day when I get home from work.
That understands I will not always agree with him...but I am always for him...never against him.
That can accept me, all of me, flaws and all.
That would offer me the world if it were his to give.
That would hug me so tightly that I get lost in his arms.
If only...

Air McNair

I grew up an Oilers fan...

and I followed them to Nashville. Go Titans!

So of course, one of my all time favorite NFL Quarterbacks is Steve McNair.

He was the 3rd overall pick in the 1995 draft, going to the Houston Oilers out of Alcorn State.

3 time Pro Bowler, and 2003 NFL Co-MVP along with Peyton Manning.

At 36 years old, you're gone way too soon. I thank you for the 10 years you gave this Oilers/Titans fan. Your legacy will not be forgotten by me. Your perseverance on the field, your will to compete... You have paved the way for other black young men, showing them it's possible for them to be a successful NFL quarterback.

Steve, may you rest in peace.

You'll Be Missed...

When I was 8yrs old, I wanted to grow up to marry you...

You were the man to me...your style, I thought you were magical when you stepped on the squares of the sidewalk and they lit up.

Then I watched your Motown 25 performance, and I fell in love.

You were so handsome on the cover of Thriller, I couldn't help but give you a kiss.

Your music always makes me feel good. I can't help but dance and sing along when I hear PYT, Wanna Be Starting Something, Billy Jean, Thriller, Off the Wall...

Then you released Bad, and that pretty much sums you up...BAD...The baddest, none greater...often imitated, NEVER duplicated. Your or the originator. I could not help but watch in awe as you glided across the dance floor, it was as if you invented dance. You brought entertainment to a higher level, and I thank you for that!

To me, you are the best to ever hit the stage. You have inspired generations...my parents rocked to you before me, and now my nieces enjoy your music with me.

Your fans, those who truly appreciate the gift you gave to the world will not let your legacy fade...

Micheal, I am saddened as I write this. Since I can remember, you have been a part of my life. I watched the news this evening, and a man stated that you wrote the soundtrack to his life. You provided the music that defined moments for many of us. You will be truly miss.

Rest in Peace,

Keli

Happy Birthday to Me!

And I don't blame them...I am the ish and the urine! Why am I quoting 'Ye?! And do I really want to be all that?!

Well anyway, the point of today is...well me of course! In case you didn't know, let me hip you to game. Today is the most important holiday of the year...well, maybe after celebrating the birth and resurrection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...today is the 3rd most important holiday of the year, lol...

Today is my birthday! My 34th birthday, but I don't look a day over 27...got the confirmation yesterday when my coworker thought I was turning 25...I was like, no, my birthday is on the 25th.

You're all invited to my party...Don't come unless you come bearing gifts...

*leaves singing*

Happy birthday to me, cha cha cha...

5 days...

I just got in from the "White Party" I attend every year around this time.

No drama this year...

And the DJ was good.

He started off the party with Louisiana bounce music...if I had a relaxer I would have sweat it out.

I got my slow whine on during the dance hall set...and I heard some UGK...what yall know about that? He didn't play my theme song though...

"Bend over let me see it" ...now that I think about it, he didn't play "Murder She Wrote" either...but he was still good nonetheless.

I looked good as always! I danced, I sang along with the songs, I laughed...

it was a good time.

The feet feel like they are about to bleed...heels are evil, but they look so good!

Now I'm ready for my birthday!

Who's throwing me a surprise party?

I'm off to take a shower and get into my bed clothes.

Be positive. Be blessed.

10 days...

Until my birthday!

I always celebrate getting older...it's a blessing.

With each year I get better, prayerfully wiser.

My life is not exactly where I would have planned for it to be 10 years ago, because it's all good...never to late to get things in order...

But...

You have to take action. It's great to have goals...but then what?

Over the years I have learned...

Life is too short to hold grudges.
Life is too short not to forgive.
Life is too short to not let someone know you love them.
Life is too short to be selfish.
Life is too short to make excuses.

Don't put your dreams on hold any longer...

Live your life! Or Life will live for you.

Be blessed.

I got a a big ego...

I talk like this cuz' I can back it up...

So I was browsing the archives and came across my post from June 12, 2008, Swagger is Everything!...

well, not much has changed...

I still want a confident man, one that knows what he needs and man enough to let me know what he wants.

One that walks with his head held high, with that swag in his step, letting me know he know he got it!

And yeah...

I still am the ish!

20 days...

That's how many days are left before my birthday.

I don't have any plans...hopefully that will change.

I always like to celebrate my birthday, be it big or small...it only comes around once a year, and it's MY day. I will have to say that June 25th is my favorite holiday of the year.

So my birthday is June 25th, that makes me a cancer, and I think I am your textbook temperamental crab.

I am very loving, nurturing, and giving too!

The Cancerian trait that I hate most is sensitivity, and I must admit, that I can be sensitive at times, and I hate this...mostly because I perceive it to be weakness. It's like I have let someone know they've gotten the best of me...

ugh! I'm stubborn...

Yet, I'm loyal, sometimes to a fault. Once I ride for you, I always have your back. Unless you do me dirty, on more than one occasion. I believe in second chances, sometimes third...

I look at it like this...

where would I be if God would have given up on me every time I mess up. If he were to take his grace and mercy away from me, I would all to' up from the flo' up.

But...

In order for me to allow you another chance, you must sincerely admit you messed up, and make an effort to do better.

And yes, there is someone I'm thinking about giving another chance...I might be jumping the gun here...

we shall see.

WTF! Moment

I might lose a few friends behind this one...

but...

Storm season is upon us...

And...

Mr. Cool Black President Obama, made me look at my television and ponder...

WTF! He was on some George "Dubya" Bush ish...

Talking 'bout...

People that live in the Gulf Coast region need to prepare themselves...

Ok, I'm with that.

"Make sure you stock up on food, water, and have a radio"

WTF?!

Food, water, and a radio?!

That will not protect you from a tidal surge such as the one that came upon Galveston during Ike.
That will not protect you from the destruction due to winds of a category 3, 4, or 5.
That will not protect you if the levee system cannot sustain due from the force of the rising waters.
That will not rebuild homes.
That is not enough to save lives!

What gulf coast residents need is a sound evacuation plan...transportation out if there is an evacuation.
What gulf coast residents need is to be supplied with gas to make sure they will be able to fill up their vehicles and flee the potential storm.
What some gulf coast residents need is money to evacuate and to know they will have shelter once they reach their destination.

and...

What gulf coast residents need is adequate government support once the storm has passed and they are left standing and thinking, "Now what?".

I grew up on the coast, my parents still live there...they live very close to the water. So when I read or here ish like that...well, I get a bit perturbed. We have been fortunate, God had spared us from devastation. But we also don't play with mother nature...we've always evacuated. Yet, not everyone always has the resources to get out.

Count down...

Guess who's 34th birthday is a month away.

I embrace every birthday...no need to lie about my age, especially considering I don't look a day over 26. :)

My birthday is June 25th...I start the countdown on May 25th...

So no excuses, I make it impossible for one to forget.

Here is my birthday wish list:

  1. Cold hard cash...20's, 50's, and preferably 100's
  2. A Samsung Instinct s30
  3. Core Rhythms dvd
  4. A 26 inch LCD TV
  5. A Black laptop bag that will fit at least a notebook with a 15.6 inch screen (I think that's the size)

Not asking for much...

Saturday, May 23, 2009

It's been a minute...

How's everyone doing out there?

I have not had internet access for a minute, stuff is crashing all around me.

Ordered me a Dell Inspiron 15 this week, hopefully it will ship before the expected ship date of June 3rd?

Guess what?! I'm getting cable. Those who know me, know I have not had cable since 1990 something, well actually 2002...but with this whole conversion, and since I got phone, cable, and internet for $99...why not?

So I started the new gig this past Monday. Everyone keeps asking me about it, seems that my response is not acceptable. It's a job...nothing to be over the moon about. Benefits don't even kick in for 90 days. The thing is...I can see myself really enjoying the role/responsibilities of the position...it's the pay or lack thereof that I can't get with. I will just say...if you want to get paid, DO NOT go into academia, well I guess it pays off once you become President of an educational institution...but man...

Thinking that MEd in Adult Education might be worth looking into...too bad the course work from the MEd in Secondary Education is not really going to benefit me.

So, I work with this chick...she's like..."Yeah I have dreads, you know I'm from DC right, I got my own style...I always wear jeans and stilettos, I'm from DC, that's how we do it...Guys always say that they don't meet too many women like me here, that's probably because I'm from DC"...and so on and so son...Man...

Hate to break it to here, but DC does not monopolize the market in dreads and stilettos with jeans, don't think DC is what one would call the style capital of the world...or the US.

Chick ain't even from DC she's from Canton, OH.

So...

How much you got on my laptop?!

A Rose for My Mother

Here is a single red rose for the rose of my life…my mother…

My mother has taught me what it means to give, without any expectations. If she has it, and you are in need, it’s yours. I use to think it was odd when I saw her go into her purse to give a stranger a dollar…but now I do the same. I found it odd when she brought home a homeless woman for Sunday dinner, but there was a homeless gentleman that I used to by breakfast for some morning. She has taught me that blessings are not monetary, and just when you think you have it bad…there is always someone that is doing worse.
My mother has taught me the importance of family and love…and that family does not equate biology…by her example I first learned to love myself, and I know have the ability to love others.
My mother has always exemplified beauty and strength…I look back on my childhood, and I see the sacrifices she made when daddy was not holding up his end…I know that she did everything within her power to keep things in the house as normal as possible for my sister and I.
My mother defines mother…loving, caring, selfless, giving, strong, disciplinarian…not only is she my mother, she truly is my friend. My mother is my pillar, my rock, and I always make sure to end our conversations with I love you.
My mother, a strong, faithful Christian woman… I one day hope to be half the woman she is.

Happy Mother's Day to all the women out there holding it down!

This ish right here!

This ish right here...this is that shit that makes my azz itch.

For all those that wanted to pull my black card because I voted for the white woman in the primary election...

For all of those that campaigned for "change".

For all of those who told others how stupid they were for not exercising their right to vote in last years presidential election...

For all of you...

I have one question?

Where were you during this years mayoral and city council elections?!

We had a piss poor turnout...period! The polling center judge asked me why didn't I bring my friends because hardly anyone on my street came out to vote. One of the ladies told me to make sure to wear my "I voted" sticker because maybe it would remind someone that they needed to get out and vote in today's local elections.

There was a black woman incumbent running for her city council seat...I bet y'all didn't even know we had a black woman on the city council. I'm talking to my fellow Austinites...those that wanted my head for being a delegate for "Hillary", they said with disdain.

There was also a Hispanic woman running for the seat of the white man who more than likely will be our mayor...nothing wrong with that, I voted for this particular white man, but how many of you know the difference between he and the next?

Still talking to my fellow Austinites...epecially those of color.

Here is my issue...this goes for everyone.

The stimulus money that the federal government is dishing out...

Well, your local officials are the ones that determine if that money is accepted and how the funds will be allocated...

So remember this...

Change starts at home, and one man does not change make.
